The Invisible Woman

So tell me, how can we show a fully naked woman on film, for all to see, in 1940? Why we make her invisible! In this next installment of the Invisible franchise, a woman takes the mantle. Unlike, or maybe more clearly, than its predecessors this film is 100% a comedy. From line one, you can see that no punches are pulled when they start making us laugh, from physical comedy to witty word play, this film will make you chuckle and smile.
Yes there are some faults with it, mainly that the close up shots were not in focus. It made it look very fuzzy, but not too fuzzy that we can't see anything. Then we have Kitty's boss, Mr Growly. Gee, I wonder what is personality is like, hm.....very grouchy. But other than those two small bits I really enjoyed this film. It's a great comedy for kids, adults will enjoy it too. Out of the three Invisible films released at the time, I'd say this is the best. It doesn't delve into the psychotics of being invisible like the other two films, but it does have a side effect of enjoying too much liquor.
The characters are very likable, some rich, some absentminded, while others are completely screwball fun. The butler is very physical comedy. I'm impressed that he walked up a ladder and actually flipped off it. Overall I'd say this is a really good film, especially if your a kid or wanting to get into the monster genre. It's not very depressing like some of the past subjects, but you'll get a taste for why we love this stuff. If you like comedy that is akin to Abbott & Costello and The 3 Stooges, take a shot at this.

RECOMMENDATION: High
