Hemlock Grove- 1st Impressions

See what I thought of the first episode of Hemlock Grove!

No, just no. What?! Okay, I heard that this series is about werewolves (and I guess it is....) so I decided to check this out, thought maybe I'd see a cool monster show, but no. Just no. It took me 3 sittings just to finish the episode. 3 sittings! Other than a small chase scene near the beginning, this episode just tries WAY too hard to be creepy. Every character feels forceful, and things that are supposed to scare us, and be creepy, but I'm just rolling my eyes at what they are trying to do.
So far the gypsy boy who moves into the neighborhood is the most interesting character, but even then the episode just teases us whether he is a werewolf or not. I'm not even gonna start with the "cyclops" girl.
The most interesting part of this episode was the style it was shot in. It looked really green, and really put me in the mood to watch something interesting. However, interesting cinematography will not make me want to watch another episode. The pilot is supposed to get me interested and slightly invested into the season, but I have no desire to watch this if they weren't giving me any incentive in the pilot.

RECOMMENDATION: Pass
